#993300;\"><strong>Bagpipes<\/strong><\/span> were played in their earliest form many thousands of years ago. Each\u00a0beginner piper\u00a0starts with the basics on the practice chanter, and then moves on to the Great Highland Bagpipes.\u00a0 New students interested in learning to play the bagpipes will have to purchase a practice chanter. Practice chanters range in price from $60 plus taxes. Bagpipes may be rented from the band for the first year of playing.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/15.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-843\" src=\"http:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/15.jpg\" alt=\"15-2\" width=\"186\" height=\"287\" srcset=\"https:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/15.jpg 625w, https:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/15-195x300.jpg 195w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 186px) 85vw, 186px\" \/><\/a>The <span style=\"color: #993300;\"><strong>snare drum<\/strong><\/span> is a high-pitched instrument that adds dynamics and feeling to the bagpipes. You will learn to use the bounce of the snare drum to make the sticks work for you.\u00a0\u00a0New students interested in snare drumming will require a set of drumsticks and drum pad for practicing.\u00a0 Drumsticks range in price from $20 plus taxes. A drum pad may range in price from $35 plus taxes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/23.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-851 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/23.jpg\" alt=\"23\" width=\"189\" height=\"290\" srcset=\"https:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/23.jpg 625w, https:\/\/96th.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/simple_photo_gallery\/5\/23-195x300.jpg 195w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 189px) 85vw, 189px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The <strong><span style=\"color: #993300;\">tenor drum<\/span> <\/strong>is an instrument that has a different pitch for each drum. It adds colourful background and a visual show with flourishing batons that complement highland music.\u00a0\u00a0New students interested in tenor drumming will require a set of tenor drum sticks for practicing.
